Armor

Armor is a type of defensive ship component that counters a Unrecognized icon name Kinetic weapon. When a ship with a positive Unrecognized icon name Armor Rating is hit by a Unrecognized icon name Kinetic weapon attack, the damage is subtracted from the Unrecognized icon name Armor Rating, instead of the Unrecognized icon name Hit Points, at a rate of 50%. If the attacking ship has the Unrecognized icon name Armor Piercing augment, the attack ignores the 50% damage reduction and subtracts all of the damage from the Unrecognized icon name Armor Rating.
